How to commit crimes and keep your face out of the press

Are you a woman?  Have you committed a crime? Are you being taken to court? Want to keep your face out of the papers? Don't want the jury to read your expressions?  Simples! Convert to the religion of peace.

Someone tell me I am wrong.  See here.

The old principle is: justice must not only be done, it must be seen to be done. That includes ensuring that the person in the dock is the person recorded on the charge sheet. I have no problem with the woman covering her face during the trial as long as everyone else has the same right. The word of two police officers should be enough for identification purposes. The judge's assertion that the jury should be able to see her responses to evidence is baloney. The jury should consider the matter on the facts, not on how guilty the defendant might look. But, on conviction, I think the people have a reasonable right to know who it was committed the crime. The veil must come off, if she is guilty.

Why is it wrong ?

Because face coverings in a normal context make people feel uncomfortable whatever they are - be they a Guido mask, a mirrored motorcycle helmet visor or a balaclava. I'm not too keen on mirrored sunglasses either as they give the wearer an advantage over the one not wearing them - which is the point of them.

They are unfriendly, unsocial, divisive and un-western.

I thought this was going to be a post about mendacious politicians, Lils!

I have to assume that the person in question is a two-bagger...

Trubes! You are en-surfaced again! Nice to hear from you again!

I find them creepy Kev. Really creepy. No problem whatsoever with a headscarf. It's the face covering that gives me the heebeejeebees.

Scrobs, the person in question is accused of witness intimidation...just going around looking like that would qualify in my book.

It's all very well the debate being as to how interaction is governed when using public services but i've driven past people on the motorway (and i'm a bloody nervous driver) and looked over and seen tiny little eye slots - bloody hell, that ain't right.

Dick, have you just found the reason women are prohibited from driving in Saudi? If women are not allowed to cover their faces with the niqab in Mecca then why are we even considering it in a court of law here?

It makes sense - swift left turn = carnage because of a wardrobe malfuckingfunction? Turning heads are useful in cars. The fuck up potential is all based on a safety pin? These dudes have cash and like driving top of the range Mercs with a pillow case on their head?

It is a stupid fashion statement over here. They're much more likely to kill their family reversing but.....

Not that bothered about courts - quite rare for a mozzie pikey to get outed; cool beans.

Hope badgers are leaving cows alone!
