Moving

We are moving, first to rental, then to the place we really want to be!   So two moves, possibly within 3 months.  I understand broadband will be a whole lot slower in the new place.       The first place we are moving to has been empty for six months so I have hired a dehumidifier for a week in the hope that it will be possible to get it warm once the moisture has been sucked out of the walls.

Once we have moved the second time, hopefully that will be it and we can grow old in the new garden, which has room for flowers, veg, chickens, trees, lawn and a large shed to put the Beast in when he comes over for a fry -up.    The only worry is that there is a lovely pub and plant nursery less than 5 mins walk from the front door....

Leaving our little garden here will be a wrench. It's not easy to take stuff with us now and keep it alive till we know where to put it so we will be starting from scratch.

Chickens are the enemy of all that grows.
I've got 250sqms and they strip it bare for half the year

Gosh, all on the move at once. I wish you all the joy in the world in your new home and think it is very sensible indeed to get a productive garden going.

You gave the old plot much thought and attention, Lilith. Good luck with the new chapter that awaits your turn of the page.

Thank you Trubes. I wonder about computer speeds at the new place/s ...I hope dial up has come on a bit :-)

TrT They'll scratch it all up given half a chance. They will be well supervised.

Thank you WOAR. We can't wait! I am dreaming plants again. We had stopped searching them out more or less as there is nowhere left to put them.

Thank you MTG. Just a bit of weeding and pruning the last couple of years really. But I am proud of the transformation.

Marvellous news, Lils!

The garden sounds great, and presumably those coloured wellies will be darting hither and thither before too long!

And Elby will want a ride-on mower of course...;0)

Hurray, well, apart from the renting bit but protracted hurrayness. I guess Mr Garden Centre man can start perusing holiday catalogues for exotic locations!!

Hope all goes well and you're not blighted by the seemingly new variety of jihadist foxes!

Haha Dick, I plan arm myself against jihadi foxes and incautious rabbits. Our back garden will be like the set of a Tarantino movie if they give me any trouble.

Thanks Nick, of course we will :-)

Scrobs, I wouldn't trust him with a sit upon mower, and a small flymo will do the trick anyway. When I say "lawn" I really mean patch of grass :-)

Good luck! After my first home-purchasing experience I vowed never to do it again!

Are you on decent terms with your buyer? Might you not nip round to collect some cuttings once you are settled into the new new place?

I hope you and Elby are very happy in your new home(s)

BlueEyes, I have written the buyers a long letter detailing everything that is wrong with the place and how stuff works and will leave the place spotless to generate good will :-) I have asked them to contact me if they decide to gravel over the garden!

Thank you Lakelander. We fully intend to be :-)
