Django Unchained is the best movie I have seen in a while. Like all Tarantino films it is not for the squeamish as there is a fair bit of stage blood. It has Leonardo Di Caprio who normally gives me the pip but as he is playing such an evil character I can cope with him. A fantastic tale of revenge, cowboys, vicious slavers, gunfights, and love. Perfect casting, script and soundtrack. It is more than 2 1/2 hours long but I didn't notice.

Headphones if you can.
I'm hoping to see the Django on Sunday. Tarantino being one of my fave directors.
Life of Pi is worth seeing in 3D
That is very nice Kev. I think you have to pay that kind of price for a sweet instrument. My sister's first banjo was £250...her third was £2k...
You'll love it Kev. I just want to see it again.
Kev,
Neil Young is over later this year. Huge ticket prices, I think, and all aircraft hangar type venues - but you need to see this guy before he goes. nobody strangles a guitar like Young Neil!
Oh Gawd !
More ticket money !!!
I'm flat out on gigs at the moment. Thanks fo the tip.
Lilith - I've just bought the Chinese version of that very guitar. Virtually indistinguishable and at a 1/4 of the price.
The good chaps at Mansons allowed me to do a side-by-side comparison.
I think we'll wait until it comes out on Betamax...
Much safer thay way, you understand!
I think that's probably best Scrobs. Make sure you've somewhere steady to rest your glass. :-)
Mmmm Nice Kev :-)
The film was brillig !
I nearly pee'd myself at the Klu Klux Klan scene and at the end of De Caprio's sister.
Many taboos broken. Including showing a guy naked hanging upside down. Clearly all the blood had gone to his... head.
There are many laugh out loud moments Kev. The bag scene and the sister's demise being just two. I don't know if Jamie Foxx had body doubles for that scene but, wow, impressive.
That you find much pleasure in Art is obvious, Lilith. So what factors influenced your preference for Collier's Lilith over Rossetti's?
Collier's is a much hotter painting MTG. I saw it at an exhibition and was blown away.
It is not the most explicit but I agree it is probably the hottest depiction. Any justice to Lilith's long history must portray a loaded and highly sensual image.
A convincing Lilith dance interpretation, choreographed and performed by 'Sina' can be viewed at:

Collier's Lilith looks so happy with her snake, so relaxed and at ease and LIGHT. One of the hangovers of my 80s feminist reading was the impression that Lilith is much maligned and defamed. I don't see her as a dark gothic baby eating penis removing succubus. I see her as the embodying the earthy sensual earthly connection with female spirituality. Some versions of Genesis have her being turned into a snake when she wouldn't submit to Adam. I kind of like the symbolism of the snake helping Eve access the Tree of Knowledge ;-)
