New family member

It is happy chaos in the Berserk household as Elby and I become the Brad and Angelina of the canine world. Pig is ecstatic because he now has a live-in friend! More soon when I have pics :-) She came yesterday, a sort of surprise; trained, adorable and she and Pig get on like a house on fire.

What?!
You get a great hulking BOY as soon I move to London, and then some bitch moves in as soon as I'm out of the country for a week.
She may NOT have my room.
Am I really expected to find out about this via your blog?!

Calfy, I did think I should email you before I posted but Elby was queuing up the Desperate Housewives so it was a bit of a rush..you'll love her.

Don't worry, we will not give her your room. ....We had to take her in a hurry and unexpectedly...

Yes Scrobbers, quite so :-) Lots of sewing machine noises too when they each have the end of Pig's rope toy...stand clear!

Ha ha ha Lils!

I bougt a couple of rope toys from 'The Dept' in Sevenoaks last week, and they leave great shreds of lint everywhere, such that they have been chucked out already :o(

Next post coming on I feel...

Scroblene,

The rope toy we got Pig is fantastic, as it appears to be made of mooring rope, and is the best part of three feet long, with a knot at each end, so perfect for canine tug-of-war - he's taken to pulling Poppy up the short flight of stairs from the hall to the kitchen.

So, despite his terrier jaws and teeth, this thing is still in very good condition. I know the little ones, and they would last no time at all with him. Sadly, I haven't seen his version since I bought it, so I hope it lasts a whole lot longer.

Poppy is a Lurcher - we think Greyhound x Collie; she delighted me yesterday, having set off at full pelt - some sight, she's got at least on extra gear over Pig - down the path we were walking in the woods. Two calls, and she was back with me; similarly, whenever she went out of my sight, she soon came back to check I was still around, so she's smart as well.

She is a rescue dog, but I think her original owners didn't mistreat her, just couldn't cater for her needs, so it worked out perfectly; they get on like a house on fire already.

We are very happy with her Trubes :-) She is just moving too fast for the camera at the moment.

It's a dog, Lils, not a child.

(note to self: don't ever let Lils hear me talking to my cat)

But a bitch and a dog - puppies?

lilith said...

That is correct Pip, a dog. She has been spayed so no puppies :-(

Aww, we love puppies, probably best though. A friend nearby has a breeding bitch for the guide dogs for the blind so they regularly get Andrex puppies. They are the most adorable little munchkins. Sorry I'm getting all mumsy and mushy now. They're just dogs! The runt of the last litter died and we all sobbed.

Poppy sounds the perfect friend for Pig. Looking forward to the vid.
