Conspiracy to defraud the taxpayer

A whole new level? Ben Chapman has shown himself to be a grasping fool with a massive sense of entitlement, and also a thief. He claimed interest that he was not liable to pay as he had paid off nearly £300k of his mortgage. He blames the fees office for this. He will not repay any of the "overclaimed" £15k. I feel sick.

The Wall Street Journal and the Mail late yesterday evening were carrying stories of who made all the information available. It seems the Fees Office hired in extra staff, mostly ex servicemen, to get the information on to computer, and it is a former Special Air Services officer who was acing as middle man for the 'suppliers' to the papers. Interestingly they didn't want a Sunday paper, they specifically wanted a daily that would release information over some days. The people involved say they didn't do it for the money, though they didn't specify why exactly - just general 'wanted to show them all up' explanations that don't really seem enough to take such a risk.

Very interesting, who got the information out, and why. It wasn't going to come out, despite the high court judgment, not in full.
Knits.

His majority is about 3,700, or less than 8% of the vote last time. So he will probably be toast.

In 2001, he defeated a conservative candidate called Tony Millard. Anyone we know?

I think we should be told.

Hmmm, Queen and Country, eh, Hats? I am sure I would have done the same if I knew how to download a terabyte of info and sneak it out..couldn't be more in the public interest.

Idle, so that's why he ran away to sunnier climbs...political defeat!

Apols for second bite, L, but you know and I know perfectly well how to download entire Links lists into the ether and never see them again, just by looking at our respective computers.

If anyone sees Angels' links anywhere...

OH HG! That is a tragedy and I need your links! I shall keep an eye out. Let me know if anyone demands a ransom.

Angel's links Lils?

Must be a golf course somewhere up there...

Coat retrieved and now on my way out...

Having just seen the apology for an apology from the head honcho, I'm not surprised a bit that they blame everyone but themselves.

The lying shower we have filling their pockets with our money are really stoking ip such anger that someone really will go and do something dreadful soon.

It'll probably be me.

That was shocking Scrobs, but you can stay :-)

Yes, it was jaw dropping, Scrobs. The man has no self respect.

We are right behind you OH :-)

This may seem a bit odd OH, but some time ago, I watched a program which had several scenes shot in Smithfield Market, when it is at it's busiest.

The chap shouldering sides of pork around had cut the scalp of some unfortunate porker, and was wearing the pig's ears like a hat!

It was bizarre to say the least, but I bet your butcher would take delight in making you one up for the day...!

Lils,

Oh Bugger...

I did of course not mean to refer to your able and trusty hound when I was giving OH an idea...

I daren't come back for my coat now.

Perhaps if they all had a police caution (at the very least) DNA taken and be on the DNA database they might think twice in future? Nah they'd just change the rules..

Your coat is quite safe Scrobs. I shall have it drycleaned and it will be waiting for your next visit. Strong breezes about and it doesn't do to go about in shirt sleeves.

Nomad, her brows, or shrouds for their executed heads?

Pips, I actually think that is a very good idea.
