Scrobs, I think actually the Polo had trouble in it's early days in "small car safety tests"...it crumpled too easily. But it looks like they have fixed that :-)
Of course now I'm trying to remember all the suicide bomber jokes and can only remember the lamest - two muslim mamas talking and one boasts 'my sons definitely going up in the world, he's going to be a lawyer' 'that's nothing' saidthe other, 'mines going to be a suicide bomber'. Dreadful, I know.
