They all start out as young idealists, then dark things seem to take over. Brown hasn't achieved the ruthlessness of Stalin. With the emerging database state, anything could happen in the future. The consolation is, given this showers track record, the id card scheme will never work properly. In the meantime, £billions will be wasted/syphoned of by cronies.
