Spectacular, Lilith. I'm impressed.

Don't you have a garden gnome ? I used to have a little sideline painting them. I used to do football gnomes, Rasta gnomes, railway gnomes, policemen gnomes ...

I took a batch to market and convinced a stallholder that he should take them sale or return. When I went back a week later only one had been sold. One of the gnomes had a chip on its base so I told him he could have it as a gift from me - he seemed really pleased, when I went to hand it to him it mysteriously slipped through his fingers and smashed to pieces on the ground "Oh dear, such a pity." he said rather unconvincingly. I said he could choose another to which he replied "Er - no thank you."

'strue.

Lilith,

These are great!

Can you get them on a slide show on your PC? That way, in the depths of winter, there is a lift when the screen fills with something better than snow and rain...

EK, you were in The Full Monty, and I claim my five pounds...

OK. You have made it clear that you are not Alan Titchmarsh - Monty Don perhaps?

I have seen those photographs before on an online seed catalogue. The woman is a fraud. I am beting she lives on the eigth floor of a tower block.

Ha ha you are a regular Renaissance Man, EK! There are elves and a flower fairy in there somewhere, I shall try and unearth them!

They look good on a slide show Scroblene, more tomorrow...

Monty Don is hot.

No, L.M. they is my flowers :-)

... then I take it all back.

I am a fruit man myself. You should see how my plums are coming along, despite an attack of greenfly.

It almost makes another day possible.

My gnome enterprise went to the wall and was wound up.

:-(

To back track... if you knew someone who knew someone who knew Dylan Thomas... and I know someone who knew Dylan Thomas, wouldn't it be queer if they might also have met, which would mean I am one step away from you... that's almost frightening, isn't it.

Mr HG knows Gorbaciov; it makes for a lot of glancing over my shoulder.

And now you all know one whose garden gnome enterprise went into liquidation - how uncanny is that ?

Do you mean Mikhail Sergeevič Gorbačëv ..?

Or Caro Gorbaciov?

Lovely pics Lilith. Haven't planted my strawbs yet, must get round to it. I haven't a huge camera but am hoping to do more with it - I'm still working out what all the functions do, I've only had it off auto once and it was a disaster. But I've just got a new tripod so I can have a go at portraiture, something I've wanted to have a go at for ages. Sadly I can't get those moody lazy smoke wrapped pictures anymore. Oh well. Maybe I should try flowers!

Its very scary Mr Modo...

Do they have orchards in the Vatican? The little beasts are after my honeysuckle...

Do you make jam? MMMmmm.

Letters start Caro Gorbaciov, which is muddling.
