I would love to give these boys a cup of tea

Yeah ! More airplay for new talent - I'm tired of the geriatric rockers having it all their way.

These boys won the Mercury Prize in 1998. They now tour America permanently...they always look exhausted whenever they come here. I think they like playing and they regularly fill 3,000 seater halls/theatres. They must make a living from it I suppose.

Oh.

But you know what I mean, Lilith. I hear The Stones, Bryan Ferry, David Bowie, Elton John ... all the bloody time and it's all worn thin on me. They've had their moment, time to move on.

They are still "new" to me Kevin. And you are so right. Pop music is not really created to endure. It becomes cheesy rather than catchy once it has been decoded by the brain.

There are obvious exceptions provided there is not excessive exposure. Very early Stones music is still very vital and dancy for example.

What I find weird is that Bob Dylan appears to be SINGING on his latest album, and its actually quite good!

I find the others you mention impossibly annoying. Even though at 15 I thought David Bowie was hot. He got really up his arse and had his teeth fixed and I went off him.

Ah, 'Gomez'. Me and Mrs Street saw them last year at 'V'. They were jolly good. Not as good as Morrissey, however, who was fucking brilliant.

George, Morrissey sang Handsome Devil to me at Glastonbury, and he had his specs on...
